The Council of Young Filipinx Americans in Medicine is a national organization dedicated to empowering young FilAm physicians and trainees. CYFAM’s mission is to promote the leadership development, reinforce the educational pipeline, and address structural inequities in health through advocacy, scholarship, and community partnership.

Since 2019, CYFAM has impacted over 595 professionals and trainees nationwide, reaching over 500k FilAms with its public health initiatives. Despite Filipino Americans comprising 20 percent of the Asian population in the U.S., they represent only 4 percent of Asian American medical school applicants and physicians. CYFAM aims to correct this underrepresentation and cultivate leaders to tackle health challenges in the community.
