Festival to usher in Bayanihan Restaurant Week

Grassroots organization Philippine Forum is inviting everyone to the 3rd Annual Bayanihan Cultural Festival on September 25 in Woodside, New York from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival, which promotes, revives and represents the bayanihan fortitude of Filipino Americans, will be held at the Hart Playground on 69th and 37th Avenue in Woodside, Queens.

The festival is the kick-off celebration for the Filipino American Heritage Month in October. Also on this day, the Bayanihan Restaurant Week, in cooperation with Filipino restaurants in Queens, will be launched.

The festival will feature a basketball exhibition, children’s corner with Filipino games, story-telling, and face painting, free health screening and free legal and immigration consultations, mural-making, arts and crafts bazaar, food bazaar, community organizations and many more!

This event is funded in part by the Offices of City Council Members Danny Dromm (District 25), Jimmy Van Bramer (District 26) and Leroy Comrie (District 27).

Other sponsors are Jollibee, GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, Manila Gorilla, AIR Entertainment, Red Ribbon, Filipino Times, Western Union, and Philippine Forum’s Young Educators for Health and Empowerment of the Youth and Teacher Residency and Immersion Program.
