Once again, it is that time of the year when Filipinos feel a different sense of joy and families and friends get together to celebrate the best-loved season in the Philippines.

Christmas, or as we call it back home, Pasko, is a special time that never fails to bring out the goodness in people and prompt a celebratory mood in every home, school, workplace and the community. Sa ating bayan, ang Pasko ay ipinagdiriwang nang buong sigla at tiyak na nagdadala ng kaligayahan sa bawat isa.

Indeed, this year brought us plenty of gifts to be grateful about. In the Philippines, we have maintained the momentum of following the straight and righteous path. Our fellow men share in the task of nation-building and are consciously doing their part to transform our nation.

Our hard work earned us no small successes that allowed our government to better provide for its people. We have regained the trust and confidence of different actors in the world stage and better opportunities are made available for our countrymen.

The Filipino American community has been at the forefront of the struggle to achieve peace, progress and prosperity in the Philippines. Great distance did not deter our kababayan in the United States from reaching out to their motherland and responding to the call of their fellowmen. We are thankful for your dedication and generosity.

I urge you to remain steadfast in your commitment of helping the Philippines. The strength of our country depends on all of us, Filipinos in every corner of the world. We have made great strides but many challenges remain. I ask you to stay the course and let us continue working together for the future of our nation.

Maligayang Pasko sa inyong lahat!
