JD Torres and Sari Alfonso find themselves in a complicated situation when they give in to their smoldering passion. It shouldn’t be a problem as JD is a single, good-looking architect while Sari is also a single, gorgeous, budding apprentice cutter in a tailoring shop that JD was commissioned to renovate.

Except for one hitch: Sari is the kept woman of a much older man who JD despises.

“The Mistress” reunites the box-office love team of John Lloyd Cruz (JD) and Bea Alonzo (Sari) whose last film together was “Miss You Like Crazy” two years ago. “The Mistress” is a much-talked-about film because of its adult theme. Produced by ABS-CBN Global, it grossed P140 million just a week since it opened on September 12, according to Box Office Mojo, beating “Resident Evil: Retibution.”

Helmed by acclaimed writer-director Olivia M. Lamasan, “The Mistress” is not much a cautionary tale on the perils of adultery, but more of a story on how certain narcissistic drives and impulses — sometimes masked as personal sacrifices — could cause some to make tough, but morally indefensible choices.

Also in the cast are seasoned actor Ronaldo Valdez, and comebacking Hilda Koronel. Catch the movie in the following New Jersey cinemas September 21 to 27.
