The Philippine American Writers and Artists (PAWA) in cooperation with the San Francisco Public Library and the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco invite you to celebrate the best of Philippine and Filipino American literature and culture at the San Francisco Main Library at the Civic Center on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

Filbookfest II will once again showcase the richness of Philippine culture through books, the visual and culinary arts, and music. The first Filbookfest, also held at the San Francisco Main Library in 2011, garnered a Certificate of Honor from the City and County of San Francisco for being a milestone event for the Filipino American community, said the organizers.

The two-day festival will feature author readings and signings, book sales, food samplings, lectures, and panel discussions. Also being arranged is a return performance of the ‘balagtasan,’ an entertaining debate in poetry that is unique to the Philippines.
