Filipino Catholic charismatic prayer at the Marriot Burbank

The 17th National Convention of the Alliance of Communities will be held at the Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center on July 19-21, 2013. Chair and coordinator of this event is Ging Mangaliman, member of the AFCCPC Board (213-453-2595), ging12353@gmail.com). The Spiritual Director is Fr. Ramon Valera, Head Shepherd of the AFCCPC. Panel of Convention speakers include Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle and Bishop Oscar Solis. Topics include: evangelization, spirituality, liturgy, pastoral ministry, and youth. Highlights of the Convention include the Filipino Priests Concert and Praise Celebration, healing services, Eucharistic Adoration, and Pilipino Misa ng Bayan.

Walk with Mitch event at Historic Filipinotown. On July 27, newly elected District 13 Councilman Mitch O’Farrell will be having his first “Walk with Mitch” event in Historic Filipinotown, a.k.a. HiFi. The event, which is meant to introduce O’Farrell and his staff to the HiFi residents, will bring City Hall and constituent services to the community.

4th ORH Charity Golf Tournament . The annual Operation Restore Hope (ORH) charity golf tournament will be held on August 16 at Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita, California. Mass and celebrations of the 30th Anniversary of Ninoy Aquino’s “Martyrdom.”

The Ninoy Aquino Movement (NAM) of Los Angeles, in partnership with the Overseas Filipinos for Good Governance (OFGG), will be celebrating the 30th Martyrdom Anniversary of Ninoy Aquino. The celebration will be held on August 24, 2013, 7pm at the Carson Community Center in Carson, California. Mr. Ken Kashiwahara, an ABC News correspondent, will be the guest speaker for the event. Kashiwahara is also the brother-in-law of Ninoy, and was the last person Ninoy had spoken with before he was assassinated 30 years ago. A 6:30 pm mass is scheduled on August 21, 2013 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Santa Monica Blvd. The mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rodel Balagtas.
