The Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (Advancing Justice – LA) announced  a series of free workshops for immigrants to understand if they are eligible for new or existing administrative relief programs, announced recently by President Obama. Nearly 500,000 undocumented Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States are expected to be eligible for these programs, with a significant number residing in Southern California.  The first workshop will be held on Saturday, December 13 at  the First floor of the Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles building, 1145 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90017.

Advancing Justice – LA will also provide information on administrative relief eligibility requirements and timeframe for applying; stress the importance for community members to be wary of scams and not pay anyone at this time since the program will not be operational for several months; and offer information on the availability of Asian language resources and services.
