Singer and actress Stephanie Reese will perform at the September 28 & 29 10th Asian Festival at the Rosecroft Raceway in Ft. Washington, Maryland together with an array of Asian artists and talents.

The festival venue has moved from Virginia to Maryland as a way of “reaching out to the Asian American community in Maryland,” said George Duangmanee of the organizing committee.

Reese, known for playing Kim in “Miss Saigon,” will perform in the September 29th Sunday concert at the Main Stage starting at 5 p.m. She will be in the company of Asian DJs, hip-hop performers, break dancers, Bollywood actors, fashion models, zumba and martial arts masters and Thai kickboxers.

The 10th Asian Festival features five different villages each with its own stage performances, food, retail and exhibition booths. The festival has 35 food kiosks offering authentic Asian cuisine plus Destination Asia exhibits organized by Asian embassies and organizations.

The Philippine Embassy and the Philippine American Foundation for Charities Inc. (PAFC) are among the major sponsors of the annual summer festival.

“We are urging our kababayans to attend the festival with their families and have fun – there’s something for everyone at this annual event!” said PAFC Chair Ador Carreon. “This event promotes Philippine culture, tourism and tradition.”

The festival will also highlight the entrepreneurs in the FilAm community in the Metro DC area, including Virginia Beach, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland.

Other participating Asian American organizations are the Coordination Council of Chinese-American Associations, Korean-American Association of Virginia, Karela Association of Greater Washington, and the Vietnamese-American Association.
