Organizations fundraise for typhoon relief
Malaya Movement calls on our members, supporters and allies to urgently raise support and relief for those who are affected by the series of typhoons that hit the Philippines. We urge our chapters, supporters and allies to organize fundraisers, solicit donations and hold activities in support of the peoples’ relief efforts. Handang Tumulong Foundation, Inc. is accepting donations for those affected by the two consecutive typhoons in the Philippines. Make it part of your Thanksgiving charities. Visit their website at handangtumulong.org.
St. Paul Alumnae USA has launched a Typhoon Ulysses Appeal soliciting support from Paulinians based in the United States to provide assistance to St. Paul University Philippines and St. Paul Hospital Tuguegarao. According to Sister Adelina Javellana, Administrator of St. Paul Hospital Tuguegarao and Provincial Assistant for Health Care, St. Paul University Philippines is completely flooded and the Sisters are not able to leave the campus immediately after Typhoon Ulysses passed through the region.

JCI Philippine-New York, JCI Quezon City Capitol, and Handang Tumulong are working on a relief operation called Oplan Kaagapay for Cagayan province that has been under a state of calamity due to flooding from the cumulative effects of recent Typhoon Ulysses and the release of water from Magat Dam. The local JCI Chapters in Cagayan province such as JCI Tuguegarao, JCI Tuguegarao Ybanag, JCI Tuguegarao Makasta, JCI Claveria, and JCI Tuao led by Regional Vice President John Valeriano L. TOFA is hosting a virtual charity to benefit the victims. Typhoon Ulysses displaced 3 million people in the Philippines, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. 100% of the proceeds will go to the relief efforts of CSTV’s Grateful Tuesdays with Chemist Pinky Tobiano and Yeng Constantino.
