• U.S. Documentary Feature Films

• Short Films, and

• Music Videos

Deadline is September 1, and Without a Box’s extended deadline is October 1.

IFFM’s selected films will be shown in downtown Manhattan at the historic Quad Cinemas.

“Our programming will encompass all different genres, from narrative features, documentaries, shorts and student films from all over the world. We will also have a focus on social relevance as part of our programming and our goals,” said a statement from the organizers.

The people behind IFFM are festival director/programmer Luis Pedron, executive director Gerry Balasta, marketing director Grace Labaguis, and marketing consultant Adora Adora Penn.

“New York City is a place where the world converges. And we would like to celebrate international and independent films,” the organizers said. “We have a vision that film as a medium can make a positive impact in the world and the belief that New York City is the best place to make this happen. It can be as simple as sharing a laughter or a tear in a short film or making a direct impact on lives across the world in a documentary.”

IFFM believes in filmmakers and will give them support by helping them find an audience in New York and giving them opportunities to promote their films, it said. Contact them for additional information at info@iffmnewyork.com.

Important information here. Will tell my friends who are film buffs. I’m surprised why this is not out there in the papers.
