EXLService, a New York-based provider of outsourcing services for Fortune 1000 companies, is expanding its operations in the Philippines.

From more than 1,500 professionals, the Park Avenue-headquartered company is expected to create an additional 1,000 “high-level jobs” in its pioneer site in Manila, according to a press statement.

“(This) is a manifestation of the renewed investors confidence for the Philippines under the new government,” said President Benigno Aquino III at the inauguration January 11 of the additional center of EXLService Holdings Inc. at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

EXLService provides outsourcing services in the areas of insurance, healthcare, customer service, finance, accounting and legal support services. According to its website, the company has a strong balance sheet with $82 million of cash and projects 2011 revenue of between $356 million to $358 million.

The company’s corporate office is at 280 Park Avenue in Manhattan. The mostly Indian American management team is headed by President & CEO Rohit Kapoor. EXL also has offices in India, a close Philippine rival in the BPO outsourcing business.

In his speech, Aquino noted that the bigger operation is a “good start for the country” as it enters a new year.

“Since I assumed office, many expressed confidence on our country. But like I’ve said in inaugurations like this there is no greater expression of confidence than actually doing business here,” he said. “Rest assured that as you continue doing business here, we will continue doing what we can to make things easier for you.”

For one thing, he said the government continues to train Filipinos and generate jobs for them. One way is to improve the English proficiency of college students in preparation for BPO and call center jobs, said Aquino.

“While BPO in the Philippines has long been associated with the contact center space, EXL is a next-generation provider delivering complex, industry-focused work to our clients,” said Kapoor.

“Our business focus and world-class facilities create viable, challenging and rewarding opportunities for Filipino professionals. Here, employees with nursing and medical degrees, finance backgrounds, and other specialized skills can fully apply their knowledge and expertise. These individuals provide the high-value services that our global clients increasingly demand.”
