Filipino ambition, talent on spotlight in June 9 mentoring summit

Filipino leaders and innovators are getting together for the first-ever PH Time Is Now: A Networking and Mentoring Event on June 9, Saturday, at the Harvard Club. The ticketed event will take place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

PH Time Is Now aims to create a platform for Filipinos to share their personal stories of learning, growth and success in hopes of inspiring the next generation, said PH Time Is Now co-founder Carissa Villacorta.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet, engage and collaborate with fellow innovators and changemakers.

“We were inspired to help create a space and time for global Filipinos to connect with each other and help each other. Every minute and every session of PH Time Is Now will teach and challenge attendees to create meaningful paths for personal and professional success,” said PH Time Is Now co-founder Carissa Villacorta.

“It’s about time we highlight new global Filipinos who are making their presence felt in the world and connect them with other Filipinos who are looking to do the same. This is about sharing time, brainstorming, and mentoring so that together, we can help create more success stories and happy journeys,” she added.

PH Time Is Now puts Filipino ambition, perseverance and talent in the spotlight with its roster of facilitators, mentors and trailblazers – each one a leader in their respective fields, with special guest from Hollywood, Vincent Rodriguez III, the first Filipino American lead star in a TV Series. The event will also feature the Reginald F. Lewis Entrepreneurship Panel Setting Up Business for Success featuring Ian Doromal (Co-Founder of ecoSPEARS), Ivie Joy Agustin (Founder of Ivie Joy Flowers), Joy Murao (Global Practice Support Executive and eDiscovery Strategist at Practice Aligned Resources), Mollie Coleman (Founder of High Caliber Events). The panel will be moderated by the FilAm Chamber of Commerce’s President William Peetoom and Secretary Kristine Custodio.

#PHNow, a curated trunk show highlighting Filipino creativity and ingenuity, including the limited edition Global Filipino Watch by Philip Stein. Two limited edition luggage pieces that commemorate the 120th anniversary of Philippine Independence and celebrate the #GlobalFilipinoJourney, designed by NY Pop Artist Peter Marco, will also be presented for silent auction.

Broadway Barkada, a group of Filipino American theater artists and musicians, will close the program with a special performance.
