Pop went the champagne bottle to officially welcome Get Reel online TV into the real world on Sunday evening, January 8, during one of coldest nights of winter 2017 here.

Very soon, the night unraveled in cheers, laughter, and well-wishes for the co-hosts — executive director at Marcoart Jeanette Marco, filmmaker Luis Pedron, and OSM! online magazine publisher Marivir Montebon in a sweet gathering of cheerful friends and family at the posh JJ Salon on 3rd Avenue.

Get Reel is a lifestyle, art and culture, and social issues magazine rolled in 30-minute episodes every Sunday at 7 p.m. on www.getreeltv.us produced by Snug Dog Films of Jeanette and her husband, artist Peter Marco.

Joshua Ang Price is the featured figure of the maiden episode which was shot entirely in Little Rock, Arkansas, his home place. Price, born to a Filipino mother and an American father, is the communications director for the Delta Regional Authority. A native of Little Rock, he is a graduate of sociology and dabbles in Tae Kwon Do.

During the launch party, honored guest Deputy Consul-General Bong Carino said Get Reel is a “welcome addition” to the growing community of Filipino media outlets on the East Coast. He congratulated the hosts for putting up a show that celebrates the diversity of American society.

Get Reel was visualized by Pedron, Marco, and Montebon in April 2016, right after the 4th anniversary party of OSM! online magazine which is published by Montebon.
Montebon said that it was in the wee hours of the night when Get Reel was hatched, over coffee and cookies, in a café in one of the hotels in the city. One year later, Get Reel comes to life, after the hosts and producer Snug Dog Films created a modest deposit of interesting and exciting episodes.

It was a night of fun and profuse gratitude to supporters, but particularly to Jo’s Flowers, Bella Owens, Delta, the Fil-Am Press Club of New York, Peter Marco, and JJ Salon.

Pedron, the creator of the seven-year-old International Film Fest Manhattan (IFFM), said during the launch party that he has thrived because of persistence and the support of friends and family, “despite the challenges of crab mentality.”

Marco, a publisher of the EnRoute travel magazine, set a positive tone of celebrating life, networking and support, and prosperity through the show. Montebon, for her part, said that the team “competes with itself” in providing the best content in each episode.

For the next episode, January 15, Get Reel will feature former Consul General to New York Ambassador Mario de Leon Jr., the Rackets band, Bella Owens’ beauty regimen, and the great Florida escapade of Luis and Jeanette.
