“AwiTawanan sa NYC” will feature 1980s singer Jam Morales, comedienne Fe de los Reyes, and singer-actress Jessa Zaragoza in a comedy concert to be held June 20 at the NYC Arena of Amazura Lounge located in Jamaica, New York.

The visiting artists will be joined by local artists NU7 Band, Angel Ram, and Anna Templo.

Jam Morales’s musical career started in 1983. She became one of the Philippines’s top recording and concert artists. She was also a popular TV personality, co-hosting live musical variety shows.

Jam has done concert tours in major cities of the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Canada. Last year, Jam had a successful five-city concert tour of Ireland. Jam is now a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she owns and operates Jam’s Voice Studio.

Fe de los Reyes’s versatility allows her to switch from funny girl to Broadway singer, and break into choreographed dance. A multi- media artist, Fe started her professional career in 1979 as a member of Music and Magic, the Philippines’s premier show band in the ‘80s. She turned solo in 1987 and branched out into comedy with her standup act. She has performed in top venues like Carnegie Hall and MGM Grand.

Fe was at the top of her game when she decided to leave her flourishing showbiz career to come to the U.S. to search for a sister she has never met. In the process, she started a family of her own and pursued a dream of making it in America.

“Amerikana…Made in the Philippines” is one of her more successful comedy acts in the U.S. where she riffs on the Filipinos’ funny immigration experiences. Fe found an appreciative audience in no less than the U.S. government. In 1995, she was granted her permanent residency status as an Individual of Extraordinary Ability. She became a U.S. citizen in 2002.

Jessa Zaragoza started in show business at 8 years old, when she auditioned for Little Miss Philippines, a popular beauty pageant for young girls. She would later become a regular in German Moreno’s long-running variety show, “That’s Entertainment.”

Her musical debut came with the release of her first album “Just Can’t Help Feelin’” under Octo-Arts EMI Records in 1997. The single “Bakit Pa” rose to the top of the charts and became very popular for a long time.

Jessa also ventured into films, and telenovelas where she usually sings the theme songs. She currently stars in GMA network’s top-rating sitcom, “Pepito Manaloto.”

“AwiTawanan sa NYC” is a production of AsiaWest Entertainment, a new entertainment company based in New York City. Tickets are available at $88 for VIP with meet-and-greet, $58 and $40 for general admission.
